Abstract

Cognitive impairment is a disorder that leads to dementia, one of which is shown to be a memory disorder. Memory can be increased by adding antioxidant compounds from soursop leaves namely flavonoids. This study aims to determine the effect of giving soursop leaf extract and the effective dose in improving memory. Soursop leaves was blended with aquadest and squeezed, then dried extract was made using the freeze drying method. Memory improvement was tested using the radial arm maze method, using 25 white mice which were divided into 5 groups namely negative control (aquadest), positive control (ginkgo biloba 9.75 mg/kg BW), and three variantions of the dose of soursop leaf dried extracts, namely 200, 400, 800 mg/kg BW. Observations were carried out for 12 days after Pb acetate induction. Data analysis using one-way ANOVA test. The results of the research treals on dried extracts of soursop leaf was significantly different from negative control, but the dosages of 200 and 400 mg/kg BW were significantly different from positive control. So, the dose of soursop leaf extracts which has increasing effect was 800 mg/kg BW.
