Abstract
Lip balm is a cosmetic preparation similar to lipstick that is used to prevent dryness of the lips and protect it from environmental hazards. The use of rosella as a coloring agent, because the flowers of rosella (Hisbiscus sabdariffa L.) have red pigments from anthocyanin and olive oil can be used as emollients which function to maintain lip moisture. Olive oil has the potential to be used as a lipid moisturizer because in olive oil there is a healthy oil because its contains high unsaturated fats and olive oil as emollients in the formulation of lip balm preparations. The research method used was maceration of rosella flower simplicia with 70% ethanol. The components of lip balm used are olive oil, glycerin, citric acid, lanolin, nipasol, rosella flower extract and cera flava with a concentration of 27%, 28%, 29%. In evaluating lip balm the homogeneity test, stability test, viscosity test, sticky power test, spreadability test and pH test were carried out. The results showed that the three concentrations of cera flava were 27%, 28%, and 29% produced preparations that met the homogeneity test requirements, stability test, viscosity test, adhesion test, spreadability test and pH test and did not change pH or color (stable) in room temperature storage for 14 days.
