Abstract
Sambal pecel is a local food in Indonesia which is consumed as a dish that can be served with vegetables and other supplements and is very popular with the community because the price is cheap and easy to obtain. The type of fungus that often contaminates food and is commonly found in sambal pecel is Aspergillus flavus. Aspergillus flavus is a mushroom and spores in the air, Aspergillus flavus also produces toxic metabolic compounds called aflatoxin. This study aims to determine the presence or absence of Aspergillus flavus fungal contaminants in chili pecel. The method used in the examination is the sprinkling method. The sample taken was four pecel chili. From the results of the study it can be concluded that the pecel chili sample can be contaminated by the fungus Aspergillus flavus which is one of four pecel chili contaminated with Aspergillus flavus.
