Abstract
Soursop plants, besides being used as traditional medicines, also have activities as an antibacterial, chemical compounds contained in soursop leaves include flavonoids, tannins, saponins and alkaloids. Avocados are plants commonly found in tropical regions and almost all parts of this plant have benefits as a source of medicine. The purpose of this study was to determine the presence or absence of antibacterial effects of a combination of soursop leaves (Anonna muricata L.) and avocado leaves (Persea americana M.) against Salmonella typhi bacteria. Antibacterial activity test using the well diffusion method by determining the diameter of the inhibition zone. The concentration of ethanol extract used was 50% with 10% Tween 80 solvent. The combination extract of soursop leaves and avocado leaves made three comparisons, namely (1: 1), (1: 3) and (3: 1) with a volume of 40 µL per well. The results showed that the average diameter of the inhibition zone for Salmonella typhi with a single avocado extract was 19.01 mm, a single extract of soursop was 0, the combination (1: 1) was 8.70 mm, the combination (1: 3) was 12.76 mm and combination (3: 1) is 0. The test results of data analysis using SPSS Krusskall wallis show a sig value of 0.423> (0.05) which means that the inhibitory data has a significant difference.
