Abstract

Turi leaves are known to contain compounds that can be used as antifungals. This study aims to determine the good physical quality of cream preparations, to find out the turi extract ethanol extract cream with a concentration of 0,025% ; 0,050% ; 0,075% can cure infection wounds, and knowing the effective concentration of the cream formula in curing the back skin of rabbits infected with Candida albicans Turi leaves were extracted by maceration method, using ethanol solvents and cream preparations. The physical quality of the cream is carried out by testing homogeneity, pH, dispersion, adhesion, and viscosity. Storage is held for 21 days. This study used 5 rabbits infected with Candida albicans. Cream consisting of negative control, positive control (ketoconazole 2%), cream ethanol extract of turi leaf concentration of 0,025% ; 0,050% ; 0,075% is applied to the wound for 21 days. Observed the recovery with several parameters, erythema score, measurement of wound diameter, and culture in the media so that it can be known that the most effective concentration in healing wounds infected with Candida albicans. The results showed that the turi ethanol extract cream had good physical properties, cream preparations with a concentration of 0,025% ; 0,050% ; 0,075% can cure infection wounds and the most effective concentration is cream with 0.075% ethanol extract.
