Abstract

Based on estimation of Globacan (2012) liver cancer is the fourth leading cause of death that often occurs in men rather than women. In Indonesia there are many herbs that potentially as anticancer, one wich keladi tikus herba. Cytotoxic activities on hepar cancer cells HepG2 have been found in the ethanolic extract of keladi tikus herba. The purpose of this research is to know the of ethanolic extract of keladi tikus herba on hepar cancer HepG2. This type of research was laboratory experimental. The keladi tikus herba was extracted by maceration method using 96 % ethanol solvent. The cytotoxic test of ethanolic extract with Doxorubicin against hepar cancer cell HepG2 was done by MTT assay methode with a concentration series of 1000; 500; 250; 125; 62.5; 31.2; 15.6 μg / ml while in the positive control using the concentration series namely 2; 1; 0.5; 0.25; 0.125; 0.0625; 0.03125 μg / ml. Data analysis was performed using linier regrestion between live cell percentage and log concentration to obtain IC50 value. The results showed that ethanolic extract of keladi tikus herba had cytotoxic effect shown by IC50 value of 136,7 μg/ml.
