Abstract
Calcium carbonate (CaCOз) was used to add calcium or binding phosphate excess in the blood caused by damage kidney function. Tablets are compact preparations practical and easy to consume and taken anywhere. The purpose of this study was determined whether calcium carbonate tablets can be made in combination with a disintegrant of avicel 101 and the SSG fulfill the tablet's physical quality test requirements. Calcium carbonate tablet was made in 5 formulations with variations in disintegran combination of Avicel 101 and SSG that are formula 1 10% : 0%, formula 2 7,5% : 2,5% formula 3 5% : 5%, formula 42,5% : 7,5% and formula 50% : 10%,made by wet granulation method. Testing against granule covers flow test granule flow time, angle of repose, lost of drying,and physical tablet quality includes testing, sizeuniformity test, weight uniformity test, hardness test, friability test , and disintegration time. Data was analyze using SPSS one way anova at the level of trust 95% . The results showed that calcium carbonate could be made tablet with a combination of Avicel and SSG as a disintegranand provide good physical quality tablets.
