Abstract

Cats are animals that are widely nourished by humans. Cat maintenance can’t good cause cats to be infected by parasites such as Toxocara cati and Hookworm. Parasite infected cats can be transmitted to humans by means of direct and indirect contact. The cleanliness of cages and cat food is very influential for cat health as well as the vaksinization and administration of worms on a regular basis to prevent cats infected by parasites and viruses. The purpose of this research is to know the presence of eggs Toxocara Cati and Hookwoorm in the feces of cats and feces sellers in the market Depok, Surakarta and to find out what is the percentage of cats and sellers infected cat eggs Toxocara Cati and Hookwoorm eggs. The method used is a direct method that is macroscopic and microscopic and indirect method is a sedimentation or precipitation test. The sampling is done with random sampling. Based on the results of the examination of 30 cats feces samples and 9 cat sellers feces obtained result 5 cats feces infected with egg toxocara cati or 16.67% and as much as 10 samples of cat feces infected with egg hookworm or at 33.33% While on the examination of the cat seller's feces not found eggs Toxocara cati and Hookworm with a percentage of 100% negative.
