Abstract
Lung cancer is a disease with high morbidity worldwide. Based on the previous study conducted at Islamic Hospital Surakarta, in 2013 there were 115 lung cancer inpatients, in 2014 were 374 inpatients, in 2015 until June 15, 2015 were 148 inpatients. The average age of lung cancer patients are 40 to 65 years old and majority the patients are male. Lung cancer has poor prognosis (overall 5 years survival rate 14%). This condition caused by late diagnosis found in advance stage. Based on the backgrounds this study aimed to determine the incidence profile of lung cancer at DR. Moewardi General Hospital Surakarta. The method applied in this research is descriptive using cross sectional approach. Data were obtained from patients’ medical record fulfilling the criteria. The result of study of the incidence profile of lung cancer revealed that the disease were majority found in male patients; 72 patients (61%), in age group of 61 to 70 years old; 41 patients (34,7%), frequently found at advance stage or stage 4; 61 patients (51,7%), the most type of histopathology was adenocarcinoma type; 76 patients (64,4%).
