Abstract

Drug Related Problems (DRPs) is an unwanted event that afflicts the patient associated with drug therapy. Typhoid fever is a disease caused by Salmonella thypi infection. This study was conducted to determine the number of Drug Related Problems (DRPs) in patients with typhoid fever in the category of drug inaccuracies, indications of need for medication, drugs need indications, inaccuracies in dosage calculated according to body weight (BB) include less doses and more doses as well as drug interactions. The method us is the descriptive method and retrospective approach. The population of this study is all thypoid fever patients who hospitalized in general hospital of Dr. Sayidiman Magetan period 2017. The sample of this study is all thypoid fever children patients from January to December 2017 and fulfill the inclusion criteria. The results showed that the most commonly used typhoid fever antibiotics were chloramphenicol (42,45%), other drugs that were widely used were ranitidine and paracetamol which was 17,68% and the most widely used infusion was Lactate Ringer infusion at a dose of 3000 ml/kg/day (30,00%). The most common occurrence of DRPs in patients with typhoid fever in Dr. Inpatient Hospital of Dr. Sayidiman Magetan in 2017 is an indication without drugs (47,36%), then less drug doses (22,80%), drug inaccuracies (12,28%), drug interactions (8,77%), more drug doses (7,01%), and medicine without indication (1,75%).
