Abstract

Powder is one of cosmetic products that serves to keep makeup good for long time so favored by women. The powder has a basic composition of starch or talc. One of the requirements of the powder is the heavy metal content should be negative for example Pb (lead), given the powder is used on the face so as to allow exposure to heavy metals that result in toxic and damaging health. Powder Tabur can be purchased online at an affordable price ranging from low price to high price. This research aims to determine the level of lead in the powder that is sold online in the atomic absorption spectrophotometry. This study was conducted on 6 samples of Tabur powder with a price range of Rp. 30,000 – 150,000 with the following description. Sample C & E dengan harga rendah Rp. < 60,000; Sample A & F dengan harga sedang Rp. 60.000-95.000; Sample B & D with a high price of Rp. 95.000-150,000. Determination of lead levels with wavelengths 217 nm. The result of determining the lead metal level of the atomic absorption spectrophotometer of 6 powder samples showed positive results for samples of A, B, C, D, E, and F consecutive at 3.0536 mg/kg; 2.8529 mg/kg; 2.9264 mg/kg; 8.7068 mg/kg; 2.9214 mg/kg; 3.0802 mg/kg and the highest level is shown in sample D of 8.7068 mg/kg with a price range of Rp. 95,000 – 150,000. This indicates that the powder is still qualified standard quality of 20 BPJ which has been stipulated by the regulation of the head of BPOM RI number 17 year 2014 about the requirements of microbial and heavy metals Cemaran in cosmetics.
