Abstract
Red tilapia fish is the result of hybridization between female tilapia fish (reddish-orange mossambique) (Oreochomis mossambicus) and normal male tilapia fish (Oreochromis niloticus). The quality of red tilapia fish is dependent on reservoir’s water environment; one of metals potentially contaminating water environment is lead (Pb) due to water contamination. This research aimed to find out the lead (Pb) and the lead heavy metal content in red tilapia fish from Kedungombo Reservoir and to find what the lead heavy metal content having been considering by SNI 2729:2013. This research employed Atom Absorption Spectrophotometry method. The lead (Pb) heavy metal was measured at 217 nm wavelength. The sample used consisted of 2: samples 1 and 2; the samples were prepared using wet destruction method, with HNO365% and H2O2. The result of research red tilapia fish positive polluted the lead (Pb) with showed that the lead (Pb) content is 0.9480 mg/kg in sample 1 and 0.6358 mg/kg in sample 2. Considering the maximum threshold as specified by SNI 2729: 2013 about heavy metal contamination in the fish, the mean heavy metal content has surpassed the threshold of ≥ 0.3 mg/kg.
