Abstract
Chronic renal failure is a clinical syndrome caused by a decline in kidney function that is chronic, progressive and advanced. Chronic renal failure causes a decrease in renal excretion in electrolyte balance, especially disturbance of magnesium balance caused by impaired renal excretion that causes hypermagnesemia. The purpose of this study was to determine the magnesium levels in patients with chronic renal failure Scientific Writing is prepared based on the results of examination of magnesium levels conducted at the Laboratory Setia Budi Surakarta University of 30 patients serum samples of chronic renal failure and inpatient RSUD Dr. Moewardi and supported by published libraries. Magnesium levels were examined by photometric test method using xylidyl blue method. The results of magnesium level examination in 30 samples of patients with chronic renal failure can be concluded that 6 samples (20%) had elevated magnesium levels, while 24 samples (80%) did not increase magnesium levels.
