Abstract
Case of fractures is often associated with surgical operations. Surgical site infection is a infection that often occurs during the surgical process. The use of prophylactic antibiotics in hospitals is done as a preventive measure to prevent the occurrence of surgical site infections. This study aims to determine the rationality of the use of prophylactic antibiotics in femur fracture surgery patients at RSUD Dr. Moewardi Surakarta in 2018. This research is a research conducted with descriptive analysis using cross-sectional design. Retrieval of patient data is taken retrospectively using purposive sampling method. The sample used in this study is the medical record data of femur fracture surgery patients from January to December 2018 that match the inclusion criteria. The results showed that of 78 medical record data (93.6%) using cefazoline antibiotics, (3.8%) using cefuroxime, and (2.6%) using ceftriaxone. Analysis of the accuracy of the use of prophylactic antibiotics obtained data (97.4%) the right drug, (97.4%) the right indication, (97.4%) the right dose, (26.9%) the right time of administration, and (96.2%) the right patient.
