Abstract

Histopathological examination serves to determine the diagnosis of a disease through macroscopic and microscopic images of specimens derived from the human body. The pre analytic steps for histopathological examination include fixation. The purpose of fixation is to keep the tissues as true as the original. Factor factors that affect the fixation of the size and thickness of tissue, type and content of tissue, physical factors, heating, time / duration of fixation. Good time for 6-72 hour fixation and optimal time for 48 hour fixation. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of fixation time on hematoxylin eosin painting results in mammary cancer. The type of research conducted is a type of experimental research with research design used is Postes Only Design (one shot case study) Sampling and research conducted in the laboratory of Anatomical Pathology of Ir Soekarno Sukoharjo General Hospital. The test results showed that the statistical test with the cruciate wallis test results showed a significance value of 0.00 <0.05, so it can be said there is influence of the fixation time of hematoxylin eosin painting results on mammary cancer tissue.
