Abstract
Kidney Failure is a condition where there is a decrease in function in the kidney organ. Kidney Failure was divided into 2 groups, namely Acute Renal Failure (GGA) and Chronic Kidney Failure (GGK). Causes of ARF one of them is glumerulonephritis, whereas GGK causes glomerulopathy, hypertension, diabetes and autoimmune SLE disease. Glumerulonephritis occurs due to the infection of the bacteria Streptococcus. ASO (Anti Streptolysin O) was an antibody used as an indicator of the presence of Streptococcus infection. The purpose of this examination is to find out if renal failure was due to infection with the bacteria Streptococcus or not. This research was conducted at Setia Budi Surakarta University Laboratory with 45 samples of serum of renal failure patient in Dr. Moewardi Surakarta. ASO examination is checked by latex agglutation method. The resulting data is calculated the percentage. 2 The results of the serum samples of renal failure found that there were 36 serum samples (80%) with no Streptococcus infection and 9 serum samples (20%) of Streptococcus infections. It can be concluded that the cause of renal failure is not always the bacteria Streptococcus. Keywords: ASO Examination, Kidney Failure, Streptococcus Infection
