Abstract
Daun murbei (Morus alba L.) merupakan tanaman yang sudah sejak lama digunakan dalam pengobatan masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antibakteri ekstrak etanol daun murbei terhadap Shigella dysenteriae ATCC 9361. Metode penyarian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode maserasi dengan pelarut etanol 70% dilanjutkan fraksinasi dengan pelarut n-heksan, etil asetat dan air. Uji aktivitas antibakteri terhadap Shigella dysenteriae ATCC 9361 dilakukan secara difusi dan dilusi. Metode difusi dengan konsentrasi 50, 25, 12,5% dan kontrol positif kotrimoksazol. Metode dilusi menggunakan seri pengenceran 50, 25, 12,5, 6,25, 3,12, 1.56, 0,78, 0,39%. Analisis data yang diperoleh dari hasil pengujian antivitas antibakteri dengan metode difusi diuji secara statistik menggunakan ANOVA One Way. Hasil uji anova one way menunjukkan adanya perbedaan nyata pada konsentrasi dalam menghambat aktivitas antibakteri Shigella dysenteriae ATCC 9361. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa fraksi etil asetat mempunyai aktivitas antibakteri terbaik dibandingkan fraksi n-heksan, fraksi air, dan ekstrak etanol daun murbei. Aktivitas terbaik pada fraksi etil asetat dan ektstrak etanol daun murbei (Morus alba L.) pada konsentrasi 50, 25, 12,5% dengan zona hambat berturut-turut 17,66, 16, 15,66 mm menggunakan metode difusi. Konsentrasi Bunuh Minimum fraksi etil asetat dari ekstrak etanol daun murbei (Morus alba L.) dapat membunuh Shigella dysenteriae ATCC 9361 adalah konsentrasi 12,5% menggunakan metode dilusi. Kata kunci : Daun murbei, fraksinasi, antibakteri, Shigella dysenteriae ATCC 9361 Great mulberry leaf (Morus alba L.) has long been known by Mexican as an ingredient of traditional medicine. This study is aims to determine the antibacterial activity of ethanol leaf extract of great mulberry (Morus alba L.) against Shigella dysenteriae ATCC 9361. Process extraction used in this research is a method of percolation with ethanol solvent 70% fractionation followed by solvent n-hexane, ethyl acetate and water. Test antibacterial against Shigella dysenteriae ATCC 9361 performed diffusion and dilution. Diffusion method with a concentration of 50, 25, 12,5% and a positive control cotrimoxazole. Dilution method using serial dilutions of 50, 25, 12,5, 6,25, 3,12, 1.56, 0, 78, 0,39%. Analysis of data obtained from the testing of antibacterial activity with the diffusion method was tested statistically using One Way ANOVA. One Way ANOVA test result showed a significant difference in the concentrations of antibacterial activity in inhibiting Shigella dysenteriae ATCC 9361. The result of this study show that the fraction of ethyl acetate has the best antibacterial activity than the n-hexane fraction, water fraction and leaf ethanol extract of great mulberry (Morus alba L.). The best activity in ethyl acetate fraction of the ethanol extract of great mulberry leaves at concentration of 50, 25, 12,5% with successive inhibition 17,66 mm, 16 mm, 15,66 mm diffusion method. Kill Concentration Minimum fraction of ethyl acetate extract of great mulberry leaf ethanol to kill Shigella dysenteriae ATCC 9361 is a concentration of 12,5%dilution method.
