Abstract

Bedak wajah merupakan salah satu kosmetik yang dipakai oleh wanita berbagai kalangan usia dalam kehidupan sehari-hari yang berfungsi untuk menutupi kekurangan pada wajah. Sampel yang digunakan adalah bedak pada tiga penelitian sebelumnya, total sampel secara keseluruhan yaitu 42 macam bedak. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui kelayakan produknya berdasarkan uji logam berat sesuai standar Health Canada dan BPOM. Uji logam berat menggunakan metode Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometry untuk mengetahui kandungan merkuri, timbal, arsen dan kadmium pada masing-masing sampel uji. Hasil penentuan kadar yang diperoleh kemudian dibandingkan dengan syarat cemaran logam berat pada kosmetik dari Health Canada dan BPOM. Hasil penelitian Eltegani et al. (2013) dan Capelli et al. (2014) menunjukkan bahwa dari 16 sampel, terdapat 4 sampel yang tidak memenuhi syarat logam berat menurut Health Canada dan BPOM yang dikarenakan mengandung arsen (As) melebihi 5 ppm, yaitu sampel 1 dengan kadar arsen sebesar 7,618 ppm, sampel 3 dengan kadar arsen sebesar 7,127 ppm, sampel 8 dengan kadar arsen sebesar 5,803, dan sampel 9 dengan kadar arsen sebesar 6,629 ppm. Hasil penelitian Ababneh & Idrees (2018), menunjukkan bahwa dari 26 sampel diperoleh kadar rata-rata timbal (Pb) dan kadmium (Cd) sebesar 15,14 ppm dan 3,14 ppm, terdapat 12 sampel yang kadarnya melebihi syarat timbal menurut Health Canada (10 ppm) dan 11 sampel yang kadarnya melebihi syarat kadmium menurut Health Canada (3 ppm). Kata kunci : Bedak wajah, uji logam berat, ICP-OES Face powder is one of cosmetics used daily by woman in various age to cover face holes. The samples used three kinds of face powder from forty two total samples. This research purposed to know product eligibility based on based on heavy metal test of Health Canada standard and BPOM. Heavy metal test used inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES) method to know the contents of mercury (Hg), lead (Pb), arsenic (As), and cadmium (Cd) on samples. The determination result compared with term of heavy metal contamination’s cosmetic from Health Canada and BPOM. The research result of Eltegani et al. (2013) and Capelli et al. (2014) showed four from sixteen samples not complying to term of heavy metal on Health Canada and BPOM because it is contain As more than 5 ppm i,e the first sample contain 7,618 ppm, the third sample contain 5,803 ppm and the ninth sample contain 6,629 ppm. The research result of Ababneh & Idrees (2018) showed samples was obtained the content of Pb and Cd about 15,14 ppm and 3,14 ppm. Twelve from twenty six total samples was obtained the content of Pb about 15,14 ppm. It was more than term of lead content according to Health Canada (10 ppm. Twelve from twenty six total samples was obtained the content of Cd about 3,14 ppm. It was more than term of cadmium content according to Health Canada (3 ppm).
