Abstract

Helminthiasis is a health problem that is still commonly found in developing countries, one of which is Indonesia. Transmission of Soil Transmitted Helminths to humans can be caused by eating raw vegetables and vegetables that are not washed clean. The purpose of this study was to determine the contamination of Soil Transmitted Helminths eggs, to determine the percentage and types of Soil Transmitted Helminths eggs that contaminated cabbage, basil, and lettuce which were used as fresh vegetable at the food stalls. This research method uses literature studies with reference to 13 journals consisting of 3 international journals, 5 national journals accredited by Sinta and 5 journals not accredited. Journal searches using the keywords Soil Transmitted Helminths and raw vegetables, intestinal nematodes and fresh vegetables, Soil Transmitted Helminths and Raw Vegetables Based on the results of previous research, it was found that Soil Transmitted Helminths egg contamination was in cabbage, basil, and lettuce which were used as fresh vegetables in food stalls. The average percentage of Soil Transmitted Helminths eggs that contaminated lettuce was (26.6%) of the 61 positive samples, for cabbage (29.8%) of 46 positive samples, while basil was found (16.4%) of 43 samples. positive, the types are Ascaris lumbricoides, Trichuris trichiura, Hookworm, a mixture of Ascaris lumbricoides and Trichuris trichiura, and a mixture of Ascaris lumbricoides and Hookworm.
