Abstract
Powdered drinks are drinks produced by the beverage industry which are packaged in plastic bags. This drink can be found in stores, small shops, and can even be found or sold at five-foot free. Cyclamate is an artifical sweetener that is often used by the food and beverage industry. Cyclamate has a sweetness 30-80 times that of pure sugar so it is preferred because of its pure taste without additional flavor. This study aims to determine the presence of Na-cyclamate content in instant powder drink samples, Na-cyclamate content in instant powder drink samples analyzed by UV-Vis spectrophotometry, and Na-cyclamate content in instant powder drink samples according to Permenkes R1 No. 722 / Menkes / Per / IX / 1988 concerning the maximum limit of the use of sweetener food additives. The sample used as many as 8 samples were taken according to the criteria that met, namely not written the presence of Na-cyclamate on the packaging label The researh method was carried out qualitatively by the precipitation test using reagents HCl, BaCl2, NaNO2 dan quantitative by spectrophotometry uv-vis at a wavelenght of 269 nm. The results of this study indicate that four positive samples contained cyclamate. Sample levels were calculated as cyclamic acid by sample B was 1,4813 g/Kg ; sample C was 1,5728 g/Kg; sample E was 1,3637 g/Kg and sample G was 1,4451 g/Kg. These results conclude that the Na-cyclamate content in instant powder driks still meets the requirements set by Permenkes R1 No. 722/Menkes/Per/IX/1988 that is 3 g/Kg calculated as cyclamic acid Keywords : Instant powder drinks, Na-cyclamate, Spectrophotometry Uv-Vis
