Abstract
Chronic ultraviolet exposure from the sun will cause changes in the structure of the skin and oxidative stess on the skin (Drogen W 2002). Sunscreens are cosmetic preparations that are designed to reduce the negative effects of sunlight on the skin protecting skin exposed to sunlight (Tranggono & Latifah 2007). Button mushroom (Agaricus bisporus) is one of the plants that has medicinal properties and contains phenolic compounds which act as photoprotective antioxidants against harmful UV rays. This study aims to determine the sunscreen activity of serum serum ethanol extract of button mushrooms (Agaricus bisporus) based on describtif study. Extraction was done by maceration method using ethanol 96%. Extracts made in serum with a concentration series of 1%; 2%; 3% and 4%. The tests included physical quality, stability and sunscreen activity both in vitro. In vitro activity test using UV-Vis spectrophotometry. Based on research that has been done, the possible results of SPF values of serum button ethanol extract of button mushrooms with a concentration series of 1%; 2%; 3% and 4% in the range 19,50 ± 0,01.
