Abstract

Noni leaves are known to contain compounds such as anthraquinones, saponins, alkaloids and flavonoids which have antifungal activity against Candida albicans. Candida albicans is a normal flora on the skin that can cause dandruff if it grows excessively. The purpose of this study was to determine the potential of noni leaf ethanol extract against the fungus Candida albicans as one of the causes of dandruff and to see the potential for plant extracts to be formulated into anti�dandruff shampoo with good organoleptics and stability. The method used in this study used the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method or by collecting related journals to see the chemical compound content of the extract, the organoleptics of the shampoo and the antifungal activity test. The results showed that the noni leaf ethanol extract has the potential to inhibit the fungus Candida albicans and can be made into anti-dandruff shampoo preparations which have antifungal activity. The difference in the concentration of ethanol extract of 12.5, 15% and 20% may have an effect on the physical properties of the shampoo preparations and their stability. The anti-dandruff shampoo preparation with the highest activity is the preparation with the highest concentration.
