Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a metabolic disease that is always increasing every year around the world. According to WHO, the prevalence of Diabetes Mellitus tends to increase by 35% by 2025. This has prompted researchers to explore the accuracy of the pattern of prescribing diabetes mellitus in accordance with existing therapy management. This research was conducted to determine the prescription pattern at the Pharmacy Kimia Farma 63 Adi Sucipto. This research uses descriptive method which is non-experimental. Data was collected by looking at prescriptions related to class, name, dosage and number of drugs as well as gender in patients with Diabetes Mellitus at Kimia Farma 63 pharmacies for the period August-October 2019. Based on research, from 4,634 prescriptions during August - October 2019, 142 prescriptions were obtained. diabetes mellitus patients who met the criteria for the study. The data obtained were from 142 patients, consisting of 65 male patients (45.77%) and 77 female patients (54.23%). The most widely used pattern of prescribing antidiabetic drugs is metformin with a percentage of 35,2 %. The use of antidiabetic drugs in patients at Kimia Farma 63 Pharmacy in August-October 2019 Keywords: Diabetes Mellitus, Prescription Pattern, Metformin.
