Abstract
Tamarind leaves (Tamarindus indica Linn) is a medicinal plant that is widely used by the community as a traditional medicine that has many benefits. Flavonoid compounds contained in tamarind leaves are efficacious as analgesics. This study aims to determine the analgesic activity of tamarind leaves extract in acetic acid-induced mice and determine the effective dose of tamarind extract as analgesics. The study was conducted by laboratory experimental methods by testing the analgesic activity of the extract of Javanese tamarind leaves on acetic acid induction mice. Test animals were divided into 5 groups, each group consisted of 5 mice. Group I (negative control) Na CMC 1%, Group II (positive control) Paracetamol dose 13 mg / 20grBB, group III (tamarind extract extract dose 3.75mg / 20grBB), group IV (tamarind extract leaves dose 7.5 mg / 20grBB) and group V (tamarind leaves extract dose of 15 mg / 20grBB). The amount of stretching is calculated every 5 minutes for 60 minutes. The data obtained were analyzed using the ANOVA method and the Tukey test. The results showed that the extract of Javanese tamarind had analgesic activity in mice induced by acetic acid. The effective dose of tamarind leaf extract which provides the most effective analgesic activity is at a dose of 3,75 mg / 20g BB.
