Abstract
Antioxidants are molecules that can inhibit the oxidation of other molecules. Resveratrol has high antioxidant potential so it requires an ideal system to maintain antioxidant activity in the preparation. Resveratrol is a compound that has solubility in water of only 3 mg.100 ml − 1, so the development of resveratrol delivery system is made by NLC (Nanostructured Lipid Carriers) to increase the solubility of resveratrol. This study aims to determine the effect of variations in the concentration of palmitic acid and oleic acid on the characterization in Resveratrol NLC and determine the release and antioxidant activity of resveratrol in nanoparticle preparations based on descriptive studies. This research used emulsification-sonication method. The sample used in this study is the formula of the NLC resveratrol system with a concentration of palmitic acid and oleic acid 2%:5%; 3.5%:3.5% and 5%:2%. Characterization of resveratrol NLC consists of observations of particle size, polydispersion index, zeta potential and adsorption efficiency. The results showed that the concentration of palmitic acid and oleic acid affected the characterization of resveratrol NLC. Descriptive study in the first journal release test section has an average value of Resveratrol 10% SLN cream flux, which is 6.64 ± 0.19 μg / cm2 / hour and in the second journal palmitic acid has the highest flux compared to stearic acid and myristic acid. Descriptive studies on the antioxidant activity section showed that resveratrol has a high antioxidant activity seen from the value of percent inhibition in research conducted by Aisiyah et al. 2019, Sharma B et al. 2019, and Shrotriya SN et al. 2016 has a percent inhibition > 80%. __________________________________________________________________ Keywords: Resveratrol, palmitic acid, oleic acid, NLC
