Abstract
Drinks have a variety of types, shapes, flavors and price. One of the drinks that people are interested is chocolate drink. Chocolate drinks are usually served in a cold drink. Ice cubes used in the presentation can be contaminated by bacteria. The purpose of research is to determine whether there are differences in Total Plate Number and MPN Escherichia coli on chocolate drink with ice cubes and without ice cubes. The research was conducted at Microbiology Laboratory Setia Budi University Surakarta, on 21-31 March 2018. Research on 5 samples of chocolate drink with ice cube and 5 samples without ice cubes, samples taken from Jebres, Mojosongo and Nusukan areas. The study used Total Plate Number and APM Escherichia coli method. The research resulth MPN Escherichia coli found a significant difference, characterized by a significance value of 0.006 which means the value of sig <0,05 so it can be concluded that there is a difference between the drink of chocolate with ice cubes and without ice cubes.
