Abstract
Burns are damage to the tissues that occur on the surface of the skin and under the skin. The depth of the burn varies depending on the degree of source, cause and duration of contact with the body surface. Burns can be cured with herbal medicines that contain flavonoid compounds, tannins, and saponins. Flavonoid compounds, tannins, and saponins can be obtained from cherry leaves. The content of flavonoid compounds in cherry leaf extract has antioxidant activity. Research This aims to determine the physical quality of the gel and the healing activity of the cherry leaf ethanol extract. The extraction method uses maceration method with 70% ethanol solvent. The result of identification of cherry leaf extract compounds that have been carried out contain flavonoids, tannins and saponins. Testing of gel properties such as organoleptic, homogenity, viscosity, dispersibility, adhesion, pH and consistency by the literature study method. The activity of healing burns and antioxidant activity by the literature study method. The results showed that according to the literature study obtained by ethanol extract of cherry leaves had a percentage of burn healing by 93.3% with a dose of ethanol extract of cherry leaves by 10.4 mg. And antioxidant activity found in flavonoid compounds has the activity of healing burns by increasing the activity of the enzyme Superoxide dimutase (SOD).
