Abstract
Coffee is a favorite drink by many generations. Coffee that has a powder texture is one of the coffee became the preferred choice of many people. Most people consume coffee regardless of the ingredients in coffee that can affect health. One of them is caffeine. The purpose of this research is to know the level of caffeine in coffee powder in the market area of Surakarta. The determination of caffeine in coffee powder was done by using Spectrofotometric UV-Vis method with maximum wavelength 285 nm. From the results of the research, the levels of caffeine in 5 brands of ground coffee in 1 gram are 19,0070 mg; 18,9199 mg, 21,4636 mg; 10,1220 mg and 16,2456 mg.
