Abstract

Plants from Syzygium sp. contain flavonoid, fenol, triterpenod/steroid, saponin, alkaloid, dan eugenol which is thought to have antibacterial activity. The purpose of this study was to determine the antibacterial activity from Syzygium plant’s against the growth of Staphylococcus aureus and Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus. The data used in this study uses data from experimental and literature review. The data obtained from the experimental are plant determination, powder making, extraction, fractination, identification of chemical compounds im extract and powders, and identification of bacteria. Meanwhile, the data obtained from literature review are identification of chemical compounds in the fraction and antibacterial activity from Syzygium sp. The results of the research review plants from Syzygium sp. study showed that plants from Syzygium sp. has antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus.
