Abstract
Pain is a sensory and emotional experience due to tissue damage. Chinese petai leaves can potentially reduce pain because they contain flavonoids which inhibit the cyclooxygenase enzyme by reducing the production of prostaglandins by arachidonic acid. This study aims to determine the analgesic activity of Chinese petai leaf ethanol extract and to determine the effective dose of Chinese petai leaf ethanol extract against analgesic activity on writhing test and tail flick method based on literature review. This study used a sample of 25 male white mice that were divided into 5 groups, group 1 (CMC-Na), group 2 (mefenamic acid and tramadol), group 3 (ethanol extract of Chinese petai leaves (100mg / Kg BB), group 4 (extract Chinese petai leaf ethanol (200mg / kg BB), group 5 (400 mg / kg BB). The parameters in the writhing test method are seen from the amount of stretching after 30 minutes of oral administration, the next measurement is performed at 60, 90, and 120 minutes The parameters of the tail flick method were obtained from the literature review seen from the time of the test animal flicking the tail at the 30, 60, 90, and 120 minutes. The results showed that the ethanol extract of Chinese petai leaves tested by the writhing test method had analgesic activity in male white mice at a dose of 200mg / kg BB. The tail flick method has analgesic activity based on literature review with a dose of 100 mg / kg BB in the Acacia ferruginea family Fabaceae plant.
