Abstract
Acne is the most common skin disease involving blockage inflammation of pilosebaceous unit. One of the causes is Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. Abelmoschus manihot contained tanins, saponins, and flavonoid, they were secondary metabolic product and inhibited bacterial growth. This research aimed to study antibacterial activity cream ethyl acetate of Abelmoschus manihot which has antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, and determined the antibacterial activity of fraction gedi leaves has good results in cream. Gedi leaves extract was fractionated used liquid - liquid extraction with ethyl acetate as a solvent and was concentrated and was made to cream O/W with the third concentration there were 3%; 4,5%; and 6%. Cream was evaluated for organoleptic, homogenity, viscosity, dispersibility, pH, type of cream, and stability. The antibacterial activity of cream ethyl acetate of fraction gedi leaves for Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) it was used Staphylococcus aureus and The MIC data obtained were analyzed by ANOVA The Result was showed that cream ethyl acetate of fraction Gedi Leaves has good stability and the most active potentials to inhibited Staphylococcus aureus 18 mm was cream with the concentration of fraction Gedi leaves 6 % and it was good category for strong inhibited.
