Abstract
Glucose resulted from carbodydrate metabolism in the blood is the source of energy for most of cells in the body. To measure blood glucose level, examination has to be carried out. The examination of blood glucose level can be done with various enzymatic methods, such as POCT and GOD-PAP methods using glucose oxidase enzyme and hexokinase method using hexokinase enzyme. Each method has their strengths and drawbacks and hexokinase method is standard method for examining glucose level. This study aims at comparing the results of blood glucose level examination using POCT, GOD-PAP, and hexokinase method. This study was carried out to 66 research subjects of inpatients of Regional Mental Health Hospital (RSJD) Surakarta. This study applied cross-sectional design. Data were processed using Kolmogorov Smirnov test, Wilcoxon test and Friedman test. There are significant differences of blood glucose levels examined using POCT, GOD-PAP and Hexokinase methods with significance value 0.000. This is so due to various contributing factors. The significance level of blood glucose level measured with POCT and GOD-PAP methods is 0.00, that measure with POCT and Hexokinase method is 0.076, and that measured with GOD-PAP and Hexokinase method is 0.00.
