Abstract

Myricetin is a flavonoid compound that has a variety of activities, but has little water solubility and low absorption and very low bioavailability so that its application is limited to oral and dermal. The development of this solubilization technique is due to a good drug delivery system for increasing solubility in water, free from cytotoxicity, has targeted and controlled drug release characteristics. This study aims to increase the solubility of myricetin with a solubilization technique using poloxamer F127 with various concentrations. The formulations were made with the same concentration of myricetin with variations in the concentration of poloxamer F127, namely a half concentration of cmc (0.5%), a value of cmc (1%) and one half of cmc (1.5%). Furthermore, myricetin was solubilized by shaking thermostatic water bath for 5 hours at a speed of 100 rpm, then filtered with Whatman paper No. 1 and the concentration of dissolved myricetin was measured using the calibration curve analysis method using UV-Vis spectrophotometry at a wavelength of 364 nm. The results showed that the solubilization method using poloxamer F127 could increase the solubility of myricetin along with the increase in poloxamer F127. The increased level of myricetin solubility in formula 1 is 5.191 ppm, formula 2 is 6.591 ppm and formula 3 is 6.646 ppm so that the highest myricetin content is 6.646 ppm in formula 3 with a concentration of poloxamer F127 one and a half of cmc (1.5%) with the addition of solvent water mixture. Key words : Myricetin, solubilisation, poloxamer F127
