Abstract
Abnormalities in fluid volume and electrolyte composition are common and important mechanical disturbances. The leaves of dadap serep (Erythrina lithosperm Miq) are a plant that contains alkaloid compounds which have diuretic activity. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of dadap serep (Erythrina lithosperm Miq) leaf extract to increase urine volume in mice with the lipschitz method. This study used 25 white mice (Mus muscullus) which were divided into 5 test groups which had previously been fasted for 12 hours and induced with 1.0 ml distilled water in all test groups. After that, oral fluids were administered, namely group I dadap serep extract at a dose of 4.186 mg / 20 g mice, group II dadap serep extract at a dose of 8.372 mg / 20 g weight for mice, group III 12.585 mg / 20 g weight for normal IV mice were given CMC Na 1 % 1.0 ml / 20 g BW for mice, and group V positive control was given furosemide at a dose of 0.104 mg / 20 g BW for mice. The diuretic test using the lipschitz method indicated the presence of diuresis at a dose of 4,186 mg / 20 g mice BW, as well as at a dose of 8,372 mg / 20 g mice BW, but at the highest dose 12,558 mg / 20 g mice gave rise to exclusion criteria in which mice experienced a decrease. conditions so that the dose is judged ineffective. In this study, the smallest effective dose that produced eusresis was at a dose of 4.186 mg / 20 g mice BW. The diuresis mechanism is caused by the presence of alkaloids and flavonoids which can suppress the glomerular filtration rate, resulting in the excretion of urine and water in mice.
