Abstract
Lidah buaya (Aloe vera) ) dan sambiloto (Andrographis paniculata) have properties to lower blood glucose levels with different mechanisms of action. The purpose of this study was to determine the antihyperglycemic activity of the combination of aloe vera (Aloe vera) and bitter leaf (Andrographis paniculata) leaf extracts better than the single preparation in alloxan-induced mice. This study used a combination of aloe vera leaf extract and bitter leaf extract with a single dose variation of aloe vera leaf ethanol extract of 0.2 g/kg BW and ethanol extract of sambiloto leaf with a dose of 0.4 g/kg BW, combination (50:50) ( 25:75) combination (75:25). Antihyperglycemic test was done by alloxan induction and blood sugar level measurement was done by glucometer method. The combination of 75:25 (0.8 g/kg BW of ethanol extract of bitter leaf and 0.4 g/kg BW of ethanolic extract of aloe vera leaf has a better antihyperglycemic activity test than the single preparation. Blood sugar levels in the combination group 2 (25: 75) 0.2 g/kg BW of ethanolic extract of aloe vera leaves and 0.4 g/kgBW of ethanolic extract of bitter leaves, had a percentage decrease of 68.18% and blood sugar levels in the combination group 3 (75:25) 0.8 g/kgBW and 0.4 g/kg BW ethanol extract of aloe vera leaf ethanol extract of bitter leaf had a decrease percentage of 68.75%, while in the aloe vera single group had a decrease percentage of 62% and in the bitter group alone had percentage decrease by 65%.
