Abstract
Aloe vera is a plant that has been shown to have healing properties. Aloe vera also has side effects for some people, namely redness, pain and a burning sensation. Anthraquinone is a compound contained in aloe vera that can cause allergic reactions. This study aims to determine whether the fraction of n-hexane, ethyl acetate and aloe vera extract can cause irritation in the healing activity of cuts. The test was carried out using the maceration method and continued by fractionation using the n-hexane, ethyl acetate and water fractions, then continued with the wound healing activity test and the erythema test on white rats. The wound healing activity test was carried out by giving a cut to the back of the rat and then applying the sample every day for 2 weeks, then measuring and analyzing the speed of wound closure and the area of erythema. The results of the cut wound healing activity test proved that the water fraction had the best effectiveness compared to other fractions, this was because the water fraction contained acemannan. Acemannan works as an anti-inflammatory by inhibiting activity and blocking the formation of bradykinin and histamine so that the water fraction can accelerate wound healing compared to other treatment groups. The water fraction treatment of all test animals recovered completely on day 6 while the other treatment groups took 14 days to fully recover.
