Abstract
Literature review is a description of the theory, findings, and other research materials obtained from reference materials to serve as the basis for research activities to formulate a clear frame of mind from the formulation of the problem to be studied. In another source, it is said that literature review is an analysis in the form of criticism (building or dropping) of research that is being done on a specific topic or a question about a part of science. Literature review is a scientific story about a particular problem. Diarrhea is a disease with frequent bowel movements more than 3 times a day with an unusually runny stool consistency. Several classifications based on the presence or absence of infection are specific infectious diarrhea (abdominal and paratyphoid typhus, dysentery, staphylococcal enterocolitis) and non-specific diarrhea (dietetic diarrhea). This literature review aims to determine the treatment of acute diarrhea in children, determine the suitability of anti-diarrheal drugs used in children with diarrhea based on the Diarrhea Disease Control Guidelines based on the Decree of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Number 1216 / MENKES / SK / XI / 2001, and to know suitability of use of antidiarrheal drugs based on Diarrhoe Treatment guidelines from WGO 2012 and WHO 2005. The results of the literature review show that the use of anti-diarrheal drugs in pediatric patients with diarrhea are antibiotics, zinc, and ORS. The use of drugs for acute diarrhea in pediatric patients is in accordance with the Diarrhea Disease Control Guidelines based on the Decree of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Number 1216 / MENKES / SK / XI / 2001. The use of anti-diarrheal drugs is in accordance with the Diarrheal Treatment guidelines from the World Gastroenterology Organization (WGO) in 2012 and the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2005.
