Abstract

Red Dragon Fruit Peel (Hylocereus costaricensis) contains flavonoids compounds and polyphenols, where these compounds have antioxidant activity to bind to free radicals in biological systems. In the research has been done is said under the skin of red dragon fruit has a greater antioxidant content than in dragon fruit flesh. The purpose of this study is to find out red dragon fruit extract can be made of cream preparations and to know the influence of variations of red dragon fruit extract concentration on physical cream quality test based on the literature review. The method used in the study is extraction carried out by maceration and using the 70% ethanol solvent, then the Maserat is described as a viscous extract. Then the viscous extract will be formulated into 3 formulas where Formula 1, 2 and 3 each of its extract concentricities in a row is 0.5%, 1%, 2%. Testing physical quality of the formula includes organoleptis, homogenity, pH, coverage, adhesiveness and viscosity. The review of the literature obtained on organoleptis test is the only preparation according to different color because of the variation in the concentration of extracts used in each formula, then for the testing of homogeneity, pH, spread, adhesiveness and viscosity are eligible, while each formula has good stability only organoleptis in the formula undergoes color change caused by temperature changes during storage.
