Abstract

Residents in Wirosari Subdistrict, Grobogan regency some work as tile craftsmen. This work that is directly related to soil and water can cause a high risk of developing fungal infections, one of which is in the nails. The causative fungus is usually from the dermatophytes group. This study aims to find out whether or not dermatophytes mushrooms on the nails of tile craftsmen and types of dermatophytes mushrooms found in the nails of tile craftsmen who experience seringuahn in Wirosari Subdistrict, Grobogan Regency. The study used 25 nail and toenail samples that had fragility. The research method used in identification is direct examination using KOH solution 40% and indirect examination (culture) with sabaroud dextrose media in order and incubation in room temperature for 2-3 weeks. The results of research on tile craftsmen nails, found dermatofita mushrooms and types of dermatophytes mushrooms found are Epidermophyton floccosum and Tricophyton rubrum.
