Abstract

Vegetables are a source of vitamins and minerals needed by the human body. Indonesian people have a habit of eating vegetables in the form of fresh vegetables (raw vegetables) to mix other foods. Raw vegetables can be a transmission medium for worm eggs to infect humans. This study aims to identify and determine the percentage of contamination of eggs of Trichuris trichiura, Ascaris lumbricoides, and Hookworm eggs in raw cabbage vegetables sold from tent stalls in Jebres District. Sample examination was carried out using the sedimentation method using 0.9% NaCl solution, which was declared positive if eggs of Trichuris trichiura, Ascaris lumbricoides & Hookworm worms were found through a microscope examination. Then calculate the percentage of positive samples and also negative results. The results showed that 25 samples of raw cabbage from a tent stall in Jebres District were not contaminated with Trichuris trichiura, Ascaris lumbricoides and Hookworm eggs with a percentage of 100%.
