Abstract

Mangosteen (Garcinia mangostana L.) is one of the traditional plants that can be used as medicine to overcome various diseases, one of them is sick. This research is intended to know the analgetic effect of ethanol extract of mangosteen leafs on white mice induced by acetic acid and to know the dose of mangosteen leafs of ethanol extract that can give analgesic effect. This research was conducted by maceration method with 70% ethanol solvent. The analgetic test method usedis sigmund with chemical stimulation to induce pain. Test animals divided into 5 groups, each group consists of 5 mice. Group I (negative control) were CMC, group II (positive control) were paracetamol, group III dose group 2,45 mg/20gBB, group IV dose group 4,9 mg /20gBB) and group V group dose 9,8 mg/20gBB. The number of stretches is calculated every 10 minutes for 60 minutes. Data were analyzed by one-way ANOVA and tukey test at 95% confidence level. The results showed that mangosteen leafs ethanol extract had an analgesic effect on male white mice induced acetic acid. Dose of mangosteen leafs ethanol extract which can give analgesic effect on white mice induced acetic acid is 9.8 mg /20gBB. Key words : mangosteen leafs, maceration, analgesic.
