Abstract

Pneumonia is a disease that attacks the human lung parenchyma. Drug interactions can occur if the patient gets two or more drugs that can cause various negative effects. The purpose of this study was to determine and analyze the description of the interaction of antibiotics in pediatric pneumonia in the Inpatient Installation of the Surakarta City Hospital in 2020. The research is descriptive non-experimental, taking data retrospectively by looking at the patient's medical record data including patient identity, drug name, drug dose, length of stay, patient subjective data and laboratory data that will be analyzed for drug interactions using Medscape software, Lexicomp and through the website. www.drugs.com and the SPSS program using the chi-square test. The results showed that pneumonia was dominated by male patients, aged 0- 5 years, undergoing hospitalization for 3-5 days. Drug interactions that occur are pharmacodynamic interactions of 94,42% and pharmacokinetic interactions of 5,58%, minor category 0%, moderate 79.63%, and major 20.37%, and there is no drug interaction relationship with Length Of Stay ( LOS) patients.
