Abstract

Leucocyte is one of cellular components in the blood that plays significant roles in the body immune system. Leucocyte count is a type of examination that aims at investigating the proliferation and reduction of the number of leucocyte cells in order to help confirm diagnosis. There are two methods of calculating the number of leucocyte, manual methods and automatic methods. This study aims to determine differences in the results of the calculation of leucocyte count manual method and automatic hematology analyzer method. The design of this study is cross sectional analytic observation, conducted on 30 samples using hemositometer and hematology analyzer at the laboratory installation of the regional public service agency RS. Benyamin guluh kolaka in march 2017. Used paired sample t-test difference with significance (p) 0,05 and 95% confidence interval. The result of Paired-sample t-test showed that the mean ± standard deviation (SD) 0,08 ± 1,14mm. this research can be concluded that there is no significant difference (p=0,704) to the results of the counts of leukocytes manual method and automatic method hematology analyzer.
