Abstract
Mangoes leaves are one of the plants that have chemical content, one of chemical content that inside mangoes leaves are flavonoids and saponins where flavonoids and saponins compound are able to inhibit cyclooxygenase enzyme in the conversion of arachidonic acid into prostaglandin as a pain mediator. The purpose of this study to know potential of flavonoids and saponins on mangoes leaves (Gracinia mangostana L) in lowering the stretch on white male mice which induced acetat acid. Methode that use in this study is chemical stimulants and require 25 heads white male mice and divide into 5 groups where group I negative control (CMC Na 1%), group II positive control (paracetamol 1%), group III extract ethyl acetat mangoes leaves (Garcinia mangostana L.) dose 2,45mg/20gBB; group IV dose 4,9 mg/ 20g BB; group V dose 9,8 mg/20gBB. Substance that used for give pain to animal subject test is acetat acid where pain response in the form of stretching, calculation of strect done every 10 minutes for 60 minutes. The obtained data will be tested with statictics ANOVA with 95% confidence level after that continued with Turkey’s test. Research result showed that extract ethyl acetat mangoes leaves (Gracinia mangostana L) have efficacy as an analgesic, which has effective dose to lowered scratch is 9,8mg/20gBB.
