Abstract
Fragrant pandan leaves contain alkaloid compounds, saponins, flavonoids, tannins, and polyphenols that can be used in the treatment of diabetes mellitus. The purpose of this study was to find out the antihyperglycemia activity of a combination of fragrant pandan leaf ethanol extract and glibenklamid in induced males. The study used mice test animals and was divided into 6 groups and consisted of 5 mice. Squealing before the treatment is induced aloksan first. Group I negative control (CMC Na 0,5%), group II glibenklamid 0,65 mg/kg BB (K+), group III fragrant pandan leaf extract 840 mg/kg BB, group IV, V, and VI were given a combination of fragrant pandan leaf extract and glibenklamid by comparison (1: ½, ¾:½, ½:½). Micel blood sugar data measured on days 0, 5, 7, and 14 with glucometer. The data obtained was analyzed with the One Way ANOVA method. The results of this study showed that during the 14 days of treatment, the combination of fragrant pandan leaf extract and glibenklamid was significantly able to lower the level of squeak blood glucose induced by alloation. The combination dose of fragrant pandan leaf extract and glibenklamid ½:½ (420 mg/kg BB: 0,325 mg/kg BB) is an effective dose because it is able to lower blood glucose levels in squeak induced perlical equivalent to glibenklamid administration.
