Abstract
An incision wound is a type of open wound that has three healing phases, namely the inflammatory phase, fibroplation, and maturation. Pseudomonas sp is a multiresistent bacterium that often infects cuts, iris wounds, burns, and abrasions. The study aimed to test the effectiveness of betel leaf ethanol extract gel preparations against healing wounds infected with pseudomonas sp bacteria in rabbits. Extraction in this study uses a maceration method. The extract obtained is formulated in the form of gel preparations with a concentration variation of 3%, 5%, 7% basis carbopol. Gel preparations tested for physical quality include organoleptic tests, homogeneity tests, viscosity tests, scatter power tests, pH tests, and stability tests. The physical quality results of gel preparations are analyzed with SPSS statistical tests using ANOVA one way tests that are seen as normality and homogeneity which is then followed by a Post hoc test. A test of the effectiveness of wound healing is performed on the back of the rabbit infected. he results showed that the results of ethanol extract gels have good physical quality and have wound healing activity. The most effective wound healing activity is found in formula 3 with a concentration of healing 7%, followed by formula 2 with a concentration of healing 5%, and formula 1 with a concentration 3%.
