Abstract
Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a non-communicable disease that has become a health problem in the world and in Indonesia. Oral antidiabetic therapy can be given to individuals who suffer from DM and have fasting blood glucose levels of >126 mg/dL. The purpose of the study was to determine the description of DMT 2 drug prescribing and to determine the potential for drug interactions that occur in the treatment of DMT 2 at the Sukapeace Health Center, South Lampung Regency for the 2018-2020 period. This research is an observational non-experimental research with a retrospective descriptive research design. Data collection was based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. The inclusion criteria included patients with a history of type 2 DM who were given oral andiabetic drugs and outpatients. Exclusion criteria included patients who did not have diabetes mellitus, incomplete and damaged drug prescriptions, and patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus who had died. Drug interaction data analysis used Stockley's Drug Interaction book, Drug.com application, and Medscape.com application. Based on the research that has been done, it was found that there were 70.83% (68 cases) of 96 DMT 2 patients who experienced drug interactions. Based on the degree of severity, the most common was moderate, namely 57.47% (50 cases). The most occurrence of drug interactions is through pharmacodynamic mechanisms, namely 66.67% (58 cases). Key words : Drug Interaction, Diabetes Mellitus Type 2, Oral Antidiabetic, Recipe
