Abstract
Schizophrenia is a psychotic disorder that interferes with the thoughts, feelings, and behavior of the sufferer. Antipsychotic administration is the main pharmacological therapy in the treatment of schizophrenia. The purpose of this study was to determine the profile and rationality of the use of antipsychotic drugs in schizophrenic patients in no detail at the Inpatient Installation of the RSJD Surakarta in January-August 2021, based on the criteria for the right patient, right indication, right drug, right dose, alert for side effects, and the clinical parameters of schizophrenia patients were not detailed according to the Surakarta RSJD Formulary and the National Guidelines for Mental Medicine Services. This type of non-experimental descriptive research with retrospective data collection. The sampling technique in this study was purposive sampling method. The sample in this study was an unspecified schizophrenic patient listed in medical records using antipsychotic therapy at the Inpatient Installation of the RSJD Surakarta in January-August 2021, which was adjusted to the inclusion criteria. Based on research, the most used single antipsychotic drug is haloperidol; while the most combination antipsychotic drugs were chlorpromazine-risperidone-haloperidol. The results of the rationality of using antipsychotic drugs were as follows: right patient 98.9%; 100% precise indication; right drug 90.1%; exact dose 99.7%; there are patients who experience side effects; and patients who went home calm 92.3% based on the Formulary of the RSJD Surakarta and the National Guidelines for Mental Medicine Services.
