Abstract

Red ginger rhizomes (Zingiber officinale roscoe var. Rubrum) and kencur rhizomes (Kaempferia galanga L.) is a medicinal plant that has many benefits as a nature medicine as anti-inflammatory, reduce pain, as cough medicine, even as a cosmetic ingredient. Squeeze red ginger rhizomes and kencur rhizomes will produce juice which can be made lotion. Lotion made with variety stearic acid concentration different so it can produce a good lotion. Making lotion of rhizome of red ginger and kencur rhizome using method of making lotion with type M/A. Lotion of red ginger and kencur rhizomes made with defferent variations of stearic acid concentration that is Formula 1 (1,5%), Formula 2 (3%), Formula 3 (4,5%). After that the lotion is tested for physical quality and accelerated stability of the phisical quality testing covering test organoleptis, pH test, homogeneity test, viscosity test, scatter test, sticky power test, type of emulsion test. Accelerated stability testing includes a centrifugation test, Freeze-thaw test. Data analysis using Anova one way with continued SNK test with level of trust 95%. The results showed that red ginger rhizome and kencur rhizome with concentration 1,5%, 3%, 4,5% can be made lotion anti-inflammatory that meets good physical quality test.
