Abstract
Uric acid is the last product of catablism brekadown at human body. Uric acid can be dentified normal when it has uric acid value under 7 mg/dL for men and 6 mg/dL for women. Increased of uric acid in human blood is called hyperuricemia that can becaused by various diseases or disorders at human organ, then its important to have early detection and periodic monitoring of uric acid levels for hyperuricemia patients. This aim of this research is to find the difference in uric acid examination result using spectrophotometric methode and strip methode. This research use observasional analitic with cross sectional approach. This research use venous blood in the form of plasma that examined by spectrophotometric methode and venous blood in the form of whole blood that examined by strip methode. Blood sample taken fromm 38 patients in RSUD Karanganyar Hospital that have uric acid examination. Based on the result Wilcoxon test can be find that significant value shows 0,000 < 0,05. Based on data analisys, there was the difference between using spectrophotometric methode and strip methode. Keyword: Uric acid level, spectrophotometry, strips test.
